This comes to you based on a combo of requests. One of you mentioned a goal to do pistol squats this year. Here we build toward them and do one — just one — on each leg (they’re harrrd!). Another of you suggested a progression toward mastery of standing balances, so this offers you a really manageable couple of balances to build the leg strength, focus and control needed for more involved balance sequences (like the one from “Flowidity” last week).
On the whole, the practice is accessible annnd it invites you to challenge yourself. For instance: there’s an option to enter a handstand in a way that prepares the body for handstand pressing; and we tackle a wild arm balance from Ashtanga’s third series, Urdhva Kukkutasana (basically, lotus on your arms, which we enter non-traditionally). If these challenging poses are not your flavor, I still think you’ll find that the practice is whole-body, mindfully paced, and worth the trip. I always love to hear from you. If you want to show off your pistol squats, I’d love to admire — tag me on IG.
